while camping i saw several of these birds...

I'm not an expert, but I think this might be a Red-headed woodpecker, at least it looks closer to that than a Pileated woodpecker (Woody).

Here's a couple of the Pileated I've caught.

The first photo is of a red-breasted sapsucker. I have photographed them in Edmonds, especially in the winter and spring.

oh thanks Steve for posting the pic...... i had a sr moment yesterday and copied the img url and not the bb code.... thanks Bill for the info on the bird.. i had thought it was a pleated woodpecker by my book... will look again..
