Finally got to see the swallow-tailed gull this afternoon at Point Wells... it was roosting among some other gulls on the pipes along the side of the pier, so the background is less than ideal, but it was only about 25 yards away, so I was able to get a good look at it. Wasn't doing much - just dozing and occasionally moving around - but I was able to get some decent shots to commemorate this extremely rare visit. Here's one of the better images...

Nice shot Rocky. Glad you were able to get out there. I guess the hike down the beach is kinda rough but looks like it is worth it.

Thanks, Ken... I came up from the south side, between Kayu Kayu Ac park and the tank farm.
