I have a real fascination with tigers, they're quite beautiful and also very photogenic. So it's not uncommon for me to spend quite some time in front of the tiger cage at the zoo. Last Sunday was nice day, so we headed for Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle.
The first time I checked on the tigers, they were doing what cats like to do, taking a nap. So we wandered off and came back a bit later. This time the male was up and around.

After walking around a bit, he decided to try and wake up the female tiger. He went over and gently nuzzled and licked her. She wasn't in the mood to get up yet.

If you're patient, and lucky, you can get some natural looking shots like this one. The light's a bit flat, but I still like the shot.
