I arrived in the Skagit west of Conway on a very frosty Friday morning. When I was setting up, I could hear the geese on Port Susan Bay already active and ready to take flight. You can just tell, that it was time to make the trip back to there summer home. It just take one to go and they all start. This is different, than mid winter flights to the fields around the Skagit. Groups of a few hundred form up and gain as much height and speed as they head east over the N cascades into the late winter dawn. There was around five thousand ore more making the long journey to there summer home this morning, After four decades of coming here, Its still a humbling site to see. R.J
